"I usually have positive associations with spiders in my dreams. Sometimes they can be frightening but I have a deep respect for them as creatures and they often show themselves in my dreams. Last night I had a brief dream about a tarantula that I felt with extremely significant, I am unsure of how to interpret this and wanted to share in case anyone has any input. Let me describe below:
In this dream I am walking through an unknown house that is very dirty and messy, I don't know why I'm there or what I'm doing. It is night time in the dream and I can tell this because it is very dark outside of the windows.
I look down at myself and see a gigantic brown/orange/black tarantula that is very hairy crawling on me. Normally I enjoy spiders in my dreams but this felt like not a friend to me. I become frightened and then very angry. I grabbed the tarantula and ripped it off of me and threw it on the ground very hard killing it.
As I killed it its hair exploded in a cloud and covered the house and myself. I expected this to cause me pain but it didn't and I remember being confused by this in the dream. I picked up the tarantulas body and felt a great sadness, with no regrets. Like I knew I had to kill it and I felt extreme grief about it.
I held it in my hands and walked out of the house into nothing but darkness. I felt it was wrong to leave it there in the dirty house and I had to take it with me. I felt like I knew the spider somehow but I have no idea why, like it was an old friend turned enemy. I remember crying in the dream as I left, holding the tarantula with both hands gently as I walked down the steps of the front door.
End.
This dream has me very confused as to what it could mean. Any input is appreciated."
