Some notes on financial books I´ve skimmed

  • So far, sa nabasa ko dun sa Monopoly book ko, the characters who made it to the end didn´t really get an increase in money, the stature in life stayed the same. (Tim Moore, ¨Do Not Pass Go¨)
  • I´ll invent a money story. 😓💸 One day, there was a son of a rich private art gallery owner who had everything in life, nice car, cool clothes, great food, trips abroad, but was not allowed to have his own money. Thinking he had everything anyway, he never worked a day in his life and spent all his time doing pleasurable things. One day, he saw several new artists getting featured in the gallery. One made intensely-colored abstract paintings, another made lifelike statues of great people, and others still made bright and vibrant nature scenes. All the artworks they made sold for 1 Million pounds each, and all the featured artists went home super-satisfied. The rich son examined the gallery and felt daunted. He finally wished he could paint like them so he could make his own money. On another gallery day, he tried exhibiting his work: a set of fine patterns painted on thumbnail-sized tiles. Someone passed by his art and he said, I would like to buy that! That looks cute. Having no heir and nothing else to do with his huge fortune, he bought the set of tiles for 1 Million pounds. The rich son went home satisfied. Question: how did he rake in that much money?
